Under the name DUUNES, Harrison Cohen creates sly, driving, alternative rock that soars with his electrifying vocals. Like a dune, Cohen has weathered storms and navigated adversity with a relentless spirit. Growing up around the non-stop action of NYC, DUUNES draws inspiration from its resilient energy, high stakes, and unbreakable toughness. Big choruses, explosive vocals, and dark swagger put DUUNES in a similar genre territory as The Killers, Walk The Moon, Kings of Leon & more.
DUUNES’ Debut EP, “Vacation From Myself” was released on April 12th, 2024. “I wanted to capture the intensity and intimacy of living in NYC,” says songwriter and frontman Harrison Cohen. “It’s a reflection of who and where I am right now in life, whether that’s fever-dreaming night moves, embracing delusion in a city that never sleeps, or navigating love from a vulnerable place.” Multiple songs on the EP have been featured on Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music editorial playlists with the EP focus track, “Love Bomb,” being featured on Spotify's All New Rock and Delusional being added to Spotify's Fresh Finds Rock playlist.
The EP was produced and co-written with Cass Dillon (Grey Daze, Morgan Saint, Goo Goo Dolls) and songwriting and production duo HEAVY (Lovelytheband, Saint Motel, The Unlikely Candidates). It was mixed by both Tony Hoffer (Beck, The Kooks, Phoenix) and Dan Korneff (Paramore, My Chemical Romance, Breaking Benjamin), and mastered by Howie Weinberg (Nirvana, The Killers, The Smashing Pumpkins) & Dan Korneff.
DUUNES is only getting started and is set to release a wave of new songs along with another EP starting in May 2024.
